What to Expect
Your first visit
The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health history and goals, and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem. Your examination will include orthopedic, neurological, nutritional deficiency and mental/emotional stress tests. Your specific condition may require us to order x-rays to rule out more serious conditions, or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Under extenuating circumstances, patients may be adjusted on their first day.
Your second visit
Truly effective chiropractic care is more than just an adjustment to your spine or joints. Our attention is on your total health care – not just your immediate pain. We want to get to the root cause of your ailment, so we can help you eliminate it now and avoid it in the future. To best assess your condition using the information gathered from your records, exam and possible X-rays, we schedule a second appointment with you to discuss the doctor’s findings, his recommended treatment plan, costs of treatment and to get your first chiropractic adjustment. Please bring: current medications and supplements you currently take and any recent X-ray/MRI images to this visit.
A typical office visit may require just 10 to 15 minutes. But don’t think the brevity of a regular visit lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we can quickly size up the condition of your spine and nervous system, adjust you and get you on your way. Like a regular workout at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Miss a visit and you can lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes.
